For children wanting to develop a deeper and more committed relationship with Jesus, Break Zone is a mid-week, small group program, intended to provide a bridge between Sundays. A separate and more detailed brochure is available at any of the Children's Ministry locations. This program is designed to move children toward spiritual maturity. Participation in Sunday Worship and the Sunday education time is an expectation.
I want to share from my heart how valuable and important small groups are for the spiritual development of children. Small groups provide a safe environment where kids will study God's word with their peers. They will not only grow to be good friends with their small group peers, but over the next nine months, they will also be prayer and accountability partners with each other.
Our goal within our SHINE Children's Ministry at Wabash is to win kids to Christ and grow them spiritually. A small group is a more intimate setting where trained SHINE Shepherds can give children the tools and support they need to grow spiritually.
On Wednesday Evenings in "Break Zone" kids are divided into two groupings; Breakout (Grades 3-5) and Kid's Quest (Nursery-2nd Grade). Here they are ministered in small groups with a SHINE Shepherd to venture deeper into God's word and develop the spiritual leadership qualities that many adults would envy. Our desire is to see each child continue in their same group for as long as they are in the program.
Positive peer influence, godly leaders, and a curriculum that points your child in the right direction are all part of small groups for kids at Wabash Presbyterian Church.
God Bless,
