Deacon Ministry

We will be faithful deacons, teaching charity, urging concern and directing people's help to the friendless and those in need as servants of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to imitate the love and humility of Jesus Christ by humbly serving one another.

Cards, Flowers, and Prayer Chain --checking the Prayer Chain to arrange and send cards and/or flowers to church members that are having difficult times
Good Neighbors --visiting and supporting church members who are isolated from the church family - shut ins, illness, single parents, new members
Benevolent Gifts --reviewing and recommending financial assistance requests using Deacon Fund guidelines
Funeral --organizing and providing receptions after memorial services
Helping Hands --helping people that are unable to care for their own yards, home, or vehicles
Meals --organizing meals for church family members who are sick, recovering from surgery, have children, lose loved ones, etc.
Harvest Festival --organizing Harvest Festival in October to raise money for Deacon Funds
Small/Home Groups --supporting small group organization by sustaining, nurturing (mentoring and training) small/home group team

Harvest Festival - Silent and Live Auction - A family event, Sunday, October 26, 2008, after second service. One hundred percent of the proceeds from this auction go to the Deacon's Fund to help our fellow church member in times of need.
